ENGLAND v. THE REST
SUTCLIFFE'S DOUBLE CENTURY

LONDON, 25th July. The weather was fine and there was a large attendance for the second day of the test trial match between teams representing England and the Rest of ingJand at Bristol. When stumps were drawn on Saturday England was at the wicket, the opening batsmen— Hobbs and Sutcliffe—being undefeated with 6 runs only on the board. Hobbs clit! not lost long to-day, being clean bowled by the Northants bowler! Clark l Hereafter things went better, and 200 runs appeared in 201 minutes. Play generally was good, especially in the neld but the bowlers appeared to have 3io terror for tiie batsmen. The second wicket added 317 runs in -Cm minutes. Sutcliffo was caught in tho longfield after he had hit four 0 a and seventeen 4's. He was at tho wickets for 345 minutes, and with Hammond put on 76 runs in fifty-five minutes. Hallows hit ono 6 and nine 4's.
