OPOSSUM ROYALTIES
(To the Editor.)
Sir, —It is understood that our Forest Service is allotted half of the proceeds of all opossum royalties collected in the Dominion, and that this arrangement was made on the understanding that all such moneys collected were to be expended on the destruction, of deer iv our forests. Some very considerable sum, amounting to something like £10,000, is understood to have now been accumulated, and it
would be of interest to many to *]earn when the service contemplates starting operations, especially in these times of unemployment. If-they claim they have already done anything towards lessening the deer' menace it would be ot interest to learn'where. Trusting some reader can supply information on this subject.—l am, etc.,
