A Wedding. A wedding in which uiuny friends will be interested was celebrated yesterday afternoon as • "Phurlby," 67. Old Karori road, the homo of tho bride's sister, Mrs. P. J. Nathan, when Miss Edith Arndt, eldest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. 11. Arndt, of Phurlby Domain, Otago, was married to Mr. Reginald R; Davis, of Palmerston North. The Roy. J. Supper was served at long tables' in tho supper room, the docorations being.--of yellow narcissi and maidonhair fern: Tho ballrooms were cleared of the usual chairs and tables, the lounge was spocially arranged, and aU arrangements made for the enjoyable evening which, ensued -Therowere many charming frocks worn, those of gold and silver tissuo, and others of artistically shaded sequins being among the most striking. a number of the latter were, handsome patterned in large dosigns, and wore tho subject of much admiration. Alao a feature wore the many handsome wraps worn, tho Spanish shawls beine particularly noticeable. St. Augustine's Company Girl Guidr held a parents' night recently. A vcigood: programme had been arranged 1. the officers, which consisted of compel tions and items by the Guides. Leader Mon: Pointon was the recipient of a pri^ from the donor of the cup. The Ros Patrol wfts second, being only ,-i very few marks behind the winner. Lcadi'* Ada Clymer was presented with a prizdonated by Miss E. M. Scaly. Thepresi dent, Rev. F. G. Ramson, made a presentation from tho company to MisModhurst, who has recently resigned from position of cafoain. Miss Mcd hurst has been of grtat assistance in the formation of the company. A presentation was inadc to the 'secretary, Mrs. J. M. Gower, from the Parents' Committee. Several second-class badge's, were also presented.
