MR. NOSWORTHY'S VISIT

Tho Hon. W. Nosworthy, Minister of External Affairs, returned to Wellington to-day after paying his first official visit to tho Dominion's mandated territory of Western Samoa. The Minister was accompanied on the trip by Mrs Nosworthy, Mr. J. W. Black, and Miss Porter of his secretarial staff, and Mr. J. B. Gray, permanent hoad of the External Affairs and Cook Islands Departments.

In conversation with a "Post" representative, Mr. Hosworthy Baidthat his party left Auckland by the TJ.S.S. Company's Tofua on the 21st May, and after calling at Suva (Fiji) and Nukualofa, Haapai, and Vavau (Tonga), whore courtesy visits were paid to the heads of the respective Administrations, they arrived at Apia (Western Samoa) on the 2nd June in time to participate in the celebrations and sports held in honour of His Majesty's Birthday. The twelve days spent in the territory were fully occupied with official business. The party left Apia on the return journey on the morning of Tuesday, the 14th Juuc, in tho American naval station ship Ontario, which was mado available through the courtesy of Governor H. F. Bryan, of American Samoa, and after spending that night as the guests of the naval authorities at Pago Pago, they embatked on the Ventura on the 15th June for Suva and Sydney. While at the Fiji port on Saturday, 18th June, Mr. Nosworthy was entertained by the Suva Chamber of Commoree at' a luncheon at the Grand Pacific Hotel. During their stay in Sydney the Hon. Mr. Nosworthy and his party were most hospitably entertained by the State Government. The week-ena was spent at the Jcnolan Caves, and the outing included a visit to all the chief points of interest in the Blue Mountains. .

Mr. Nosworthy, while ia Sydney, was fortunate in having an opportunity to confer with the Hon. Mr. Marr, the Federal Minister in Charge of the Administration of Australia's Mandated and Pacific Territories, who was to leave the New South Wales capital on Saturday last on the first official visit of a Commonwealth Minister to New Guinea and Papua.
