STRIKE MENACE AGAIN

BRISBANE, This Day. Following the logging of the crew of tho steamer Hessel, tho crew refused duty in sympathy with the waterside workers, who have been on striko at Cairns for a considerable time. Tho trouble threatens to extend to other ports. Five steamers are at present berthed at Cairns, and the seamen threaten to keep them there unless tho loggings arc removed.
The Acting-Premier of Queensland intervened, but it is anticipated that jus efforts to settle the dispute will bo abortive.
