ROAD PAVING

Sir,—The published figures in connection with the paving of roads and streets under the City and Suburban Highways Board shows that the cost «f this work runs out at about 10s per square yard. There has been some criticism of these cost figures but now that it is definitely stated all that should concern us is whether or not tws work is costing too much at 10s ncr wmare yard. That is all that counts It •"ould no doubt interest your readers to know what this class of work costs elsewhere. Is this information available? Also, could you publish the cost figures for the cement roads laid down in the Aucki land district?—l am, etc., I " BITUMEN.
