If the number of runs scored in a game of cricket can be' :taken' as the criterion of the entertainment provided —and there are others more fallible then tho drawn game between the New Zealanders and the M.O.C. was one of the best ever played (says an English authority). The two sides between them made 1502 runs for 28 wickets. According: to Wisden's Almanac, which cannot lie, the previous record for a three days' match stood to the credit of Worcestershire and Oxford University who in 1904 collected 1492.at Oxford.
