A reference to secret divorce was mado b;y the Lord Chief Justice (Lord Hewat) 1 at the Mansion House banquet. "The Courts used to hear divorce suits by the score," he said. "Now they hear them by thousands. Nevertheless, there are a great many people in England undivorced still."
