HUTT AND BERHAMPORE.

The match between Hutt and' Berham-, pore was considerably, marred by the weather. A few attempts, were made at the commencement to set up somepass-* ing rushes among the backs, but . when. these'failed the forwards controlled theball: ■' ,■ ' : .".:•■:•. Berhampore.—Walters; Nicholls, Lang Pickering; Taylor, Brettis; Scott; Mouatt; Charles, Mason, "Smith, Pickering, Deere, Renner, Mollier. Berhampore lost the toss and had to face the bitter southerly. Following the kick-off, Berhampore's backs attempted a passing rush, but the ball was dropped, and a counter forward attack forced Berhampore to defend. As a result of offside ■ play Hutt got a free-kick and Balks was successful. 3-0. Berhampore attacked and were almost in a position to score when Taylor tried to pot a goal. The ball was forced. A good kick by Balks brought play to midfield, but Berhampore soon recovered, and Pickering took a short run and scored. He failed to convert the try. 3-3. Hutt defended for some time. Forsyth once got away in a promising dash, but was not fast enough to score Brettis essayed a pot, but theball hit the
