BOYS' INSTITUTE

The monthly meeting of the Wellington Boys' Institute and S. A. Rhodes's Homo for Boys was held in the-Insti-tute, Building, Tasraan street, when the following members were present:— Mesdames J. Hislop and G. T. Bell, Mr. Ji Hislop (in the chair), Messrs. G, E. Brown, G. R. Baudinet, 8. W. Webber, D. J. Dalgleish, W. H. Clark, A. Johnston, and W. J.: Jordan. The sympathy of all present was extended Ito Mr. D. J. M'.Gowan, who was granted six months' leave of absence from the committee on account" of ill-health. The director's report stated that His Excellency tho Governor-General would visit the institute to-night. The new band instruments had arrived, and the boys were showing keen interest in the practices. The committee- expressed- its appreciation for the gift of sugar and condensed milk from Mr. E. C. Russell for the institute buffet. The attendance at the-baths was small at 1 the present time, owing to the cold weather.
