BOY SCOUT MOVEMENT
BIG HOLD IN CANADA
.BUILDER OF CITIZENSHIP
(From "The Post's" Representative.) : ;, VANCOUVER, 16th May. According to the annual report of the, Boy Scouts' Association theio are approximately 45,000 Boy Scouts and Cubs in Canada, with 3500 Scout and Cub leaders.
So popular is tho movement in Canada that, if the Dominion Chief Scout were to stand on a given spot, and the boys and men who have taken Scout training in this country were to march past him, single file, two pacea apart, during the eight working hours of tho day, he would see a constantly moving hne of Scouts all day on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and half of Sunday. The principles of discipline, loyalty, and good citizenship are the features of their training. Viscount Willingdon is continuing to exert his influence in favour of the Scout movement, as he did throughout his career as Governor of Bombay and Governor of Madras where he was Chief Scout of the Indian Presidencies.
The movement is developing a deeper self-respect, and is attracting more men of vision, education, and character who are.convinced that through it they can servo Canada better. For the first three months of the present year, 258 warrants for Scout troops and Wolf Cub Packs were issued TtZtfe^ "* Sam° *eiiod
