RANFURLY SHIELD
THREE CHALLENGES.
Wairarapa's next match for the Ranfurly Shield will be with Bush Districts, at Masterton, on the 2nd July. A week later the present holders will be called upon to defend the trophy against Hawkes Bay, whose challenge was noted at last night's meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Union's Management Committee. Advice was aiso received that Poverty Bay had entered a challenge for the Shield. "We received this challenge five minutes • titter we won the Shield," remarked Mr.. E. M'Kenzie, . Wairarapa's secretary and selector. With regard to Hawkes Bay's desire to play Wairarapa again for the trophy, Mr. M'Kenzie said: "We are glad to have the opportunity."
