CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. "The Railway Department is a very bad offender in this matter," said the Mayor (the Rev. Mr. Archer), when discussing the obstructions t« the view of drivers of vehicles. "I am told in connection with the smash at the Colombo street crossing, when a railway engine and a tramcar collided, that the motorman could not ree the engine approaching because of the advertising hoarding erected there by the Railway Department."
