MOTOR FATALITY
VERDICT FOE £1000.
A claim for £1500 damages for .ilJeged negligence, arising out of a motor fatality in November last, was concluded boforo his Honour the Chief: .fustice and a jury in the Supreme Court to-day. The accident happened on 17th November, 1926, when a Mastcrton scrvii*e «-.ar and a motor-car, the latter belonging to Messrs. Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., collided. The service car was overturned, and William Kirk Henderson, a passenger, received injuries f;om / which he died two months later. Henderson, it was stated, in addition to supporting his wife, contributed to the support of his parents. Isabella Henderson, his widow, took action claiming damages from Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd.,, and from Thomas Flannery, ■wool buyer, the. driver of the other car, and a servant of the company, through whose negligence she alleged the accident was caused. The defendants denied negligence, and, further, alleged that the accident v/as caused, by, the driver of the service car. .■•.'. : Mr. T; M.
