On 20th January last the Sacred Rota of the Roman Catholic Church formally annulled Signor Marconi's previous marriage on the ground that the couple had agreed before the marriage that they could separate* whenever they wished. As a marriage is regarded as indissoluble by the Church, such a condition was deemed to have made the marriage null. Tho present Signora Marconi is the daughter of Count Francesco Bezziscali, of tho Papal Guard.
