" Colonel Beere reported that since Humecting called by the New Zealand Council rules had been drawn up for the district branch and- had been approved by the association. Officers had also becii elected as follows:—Patron, Sir Francis Boll; vice-president, the Mayor (Mr. G. A. -roup); president, Mr. Lan Duncan; vicepresidents, Sir Alexander Roberts, Hon T M. Wilford, Dr. M'Evedy. Messrs. H. V Johnston, H. D. Bennett, E. L. Riddiforcl L. P. Blundell. Mr. H. N. Campbell was appointed hon. treasurer of tli.o branch. With a view to obtaining members. Mi P. N. Bundle, president of tho N.Z. Olympic Council, suggests that all amateur sports bodies operating in Wellington be circularsed and where possible be waited upon by members of the branch. "I suggest," continued Mr. Rundle, "the adoption of what 1 call the widening circle ' policy. By that I mean members of the branch should make it their endeavour to enrol members whenever possible. New members in their turn should then look round for further members. If that is done the membership of the district branch should increase." . Mr. Rundle .also .suggested the appointment of local committees in various parts. He thought that committees at Petoue and Lower Hutt -would be of much assistance. It was decided that the various sporting bodies bo circularised with a view to members being enrolled. The rules, as approved by tho W.v Zealand Olympic Council, were adopted. Hie objects of the branch arc set out as follow:—(a) "To further within the Wellington district the objects of the _Ve\v. /calami Olympic Association us set out in the rules of that association- (b) to i?- P\r enfc the olymPic Council within the Wellington district; (c) to carry out such instructions as may from time to time be received from the Olympic Council "
