SHOP BURGLED
(By Telegraph.)
(SpicUl to "The Evening Post.")
CHMSTCHURCH, 13th June. After smashing a. panp. of glass in the door, a burglar broko into Mr. G. W. Smith's store at the corner of Wilson's road and Opawa road last night. The haul consisted of shirts, collars, rugs, cigarettes, sandwich rolls, and socks. Having had another experience of burglars and their methods, Mr. Smith had removed the cash from the till, so that nothing was obtained from this source. In ,tlie yard of the shop Mr. Smith had kept a large and ferocious dog, but evidently the dog did not hear the introduer, for no alarm was raised. It is a year ago since thieves previously broke into Mr. Smith's residence a few doors away from the shop and took between £30 and £40.
