ENGLISH HORSES ARRIVE

AUCKLAND, This Day, The Ecmuera, which arrived on Saturday, brought a shipment of thoroughbreds from England, comprising the stallion Cockpit, seven years, by China Cock from Sanford, by Santry; Blue Star, three years, by Sunstar from Palm Branch, by Henry the First; Grand Joy, six years, by Grand Parade, from Aniourcuse by St. Amant; Mid Kent, three years, by Gay Crusader from Herodicca, by Koi Herodc; and Mr. Clever, four years, by Sunstar, from Wife of Bath, by St. Simon.
Cockpit was bought in England on account of Mrs. M. A. Perry, of Hawkes Bay. The other, horses have been imported by Mr. A. Parker, and will probably bo taken on to Wellington by the Heaiuera. ' . ■ .
