PIANIST'S- GENEROUS OFFER

Paderewski, the distinguished, pianist,, lias been instrumental in raising many tliousands of pounds- for the -benefit of ex-soldiers who ' were incapacitated in the Great War. The very practical means P:iderewski has adapted of showing his earnest solicitude for tho welfare of maimed warriors has. earned-him high honours iv various countries, .not least' amongthem being -the honour conferred by ,tiic King about two years ago following the- raising of something like £8000 for the British Legion. At t\;e close of his, Australian tour in (Sydney recently a'special concert was held m aid. of necessitous cases of Australians who served, in the Great War, and the Sydney To\vii Hal] was all too small to accommodate the immense crowd which sought admission. ;' It was announced at the. close of Padcrewski's recital on ;fcaturdny,night,.tha.t another such benefit concert is tp.be given in »A\ rcll:nj,'Jon.on : -_Sat-urdayj 25th June, and • Mic audience.demonstrated in no iiiicerrain manner, its appreciation of tho great piaivijst.'s .' generosity -and humanitarian spiur.
