THISTLE BEAT BROOKLYN

By seven goals to threu Thistle beat Brooklyn at Wnkenelrl Park, in a Challenge Cup match. 'Jiiistle had the best

of the game throughout, the Brooklyn form being rather disappointing. The teams were:—

Brooklyn: Dobbs: Hendr.v, S. Anton; Hanson, Brown, Sutton; Forbes. Arbuthnott, W. Anton, Cunningham, M'Master Thistle: Kirkland; Taylor, Median; D Campbell, Arbuthnott, Logan; H. Campbell, Lothian, Wallace, Honeyman, Moneur From the kick-off Thistle went right through the opposition, Lothian registering a goal. This initial success was followed shortly afterwards by anotiier goal • scored by H. Campbell. W. Anton then scored lor Brooklyn with one of his characteristic efiorts, but betore the half-time whistle sounded Thistle scored twice more through Campbell ami.Lothian. At half-time the score was 4 to 1 in favour of Thistle Upon resumption Brooklyn missed a perfect chance of scoring, which lost opportunitywas followed by Thistle's fifth goal from a splendid corner kick by Logan. Brooklyn again missed an empty goal, but W Anton scored a second time for Brooklyn not lonafterwards. Lothian made it 6-2 for lhistle, who were pressing continuously. One of Brooklyn's isolated rushes resulted in a third goal to them, but just on the call of time Lothian scored Thistle's seventh goal by headinj; through the net It was a one-sided game throughout on a rather slippery ground. For Brooklyn W Anton and Brown made valiant efforts but the remainder of. the team did not give them much Bupport, and Thistle were enabled to do very much as they liked Mr. H. W. Smith -was referee
