WELLINGTON CLUB.
On Saturday the Wellington Harriers Club held its weekly run from Karori. There was au attendance of twenty-three runners. In view of the Vosseller Shield race being held soon, it was decided to hold a long run. T. Mulcahy and R. Spence set off with well-filled trail bags to select the course. Unfortunately, after picking about twelve miles of excellent trail, they became bushed on a steep valley about three miles from Karori, and although still having plenty of trail paper they decided to wait for the pack. By the time the pack arrived it was getting dark; and the club captain, W. Whcelan, and vice-captain, W. Weston, with the assistance of the veteran runner, F. Harlen, after much difficulty managed to get the pack over the valley and on to the Makara road. No run-in was held. Although the trail layers received much "barracking," all agreed that the run had been enjoyable.
Next week the club will hold its run ii'om Island Bay.
