OLYMPIC CLUB.
The Olympic Harrier Club held the annual race for the Byrne Memorial Cup on Saturday from Seatoun. The race waa run over a course which' started from the Seatoun terminus, then led to Worser Bay, then over the hill into Miramar, across the fiats to the gasworks, through the sand dunes near Rongotai, skirted the back of the golf links, led up the Moncygan road hill, and passing behind Scots College, went through the tunnel to the starting point. Twenty men faced the starter. The limit man did not take advantage of his handicap (6 minutes). The race was won by H. Gordon (lmin 25sec), with C. Campbell (45see) second, and R. Lovatt (3min 30sec) third. The best times were: C. Campbell, 34min 45sec; H. Gordon, 33min; P. Wilson, 35min 44sec. Officials for the day were: Judges, Messrs. Da vies and Byrne; timekeepers, Messrs. A. M'Kay and L. Lovell; handicapper and starter, Mr. L. A. Bond. After the run club members and lady friends were the guests of the committee to afternoon tea, during which the Byrne Memorial Cup w.is presented by Mr. Da vies (president) to the winner. Next week the run will be from the Brooklyn Baptist Church Schoolroom.
