DAIRY OUTPUT INCREASED
The director of the Dairy Division of the Department of Agriculture, Mr. W. M. Singleton, reports th« following gradings of butter and cheese for export:— Month of May 1927 1926 Butter . .... 3250 2314 Cheese ■.'.. 4048. 4053 Butter graded, May 1927, included 55 tons unsalted; all that of May, 1926, was salted.. Butter graded shows an increase of 40.4 percent, over May^: 11926.. ; Cheese graded May, 1927, was 2549 tons white, 1499 toils coloured; for May, 1926, the whita was 2454 tons and coloured 1599 tons. Cheese graded shows a decrease of 0.12 per cent, on May, 1926 gradings. Returni of grading for ten months ended 31st May were as follow:*— . • 1927 .1926 Increase ■ - Tons Tons p.c. Butter . 69,706" 61,473 13.3 Cheese 74,565 72,467 2.9 The butter-fat equivalent of the produce graded for export for the past tea months shows an increase of 9.69 per cent, as compared with the corresponding period of 1925-26.
