EMPRESS THEATRE.

Monte Blue and Dorothy Devore make swift action in "The Man Upstairs," a murder mystery, now being shown at the Empress Theatre. Marian Larnard seeks adventure, and through the agony column of her daily meets a globetrotter. The girl's craving for excitement leads to the hero staging a murder, all for her benefit, and the results, mystifying to' a degree, are also ridiculously funny. The hero overdoes his "murder," but all ends well. In thu second feature, Harrison Ford plays opposite Marie Prevost. "Up in Mabel's Room" is the breezy title of this comedy, concerning an ex-wife's scheme to win back the husband who has divorced her. She makes all sorts of overtures in an attempt to woo him. A black garment, elaborately embroidered, figures in the girl's scheme of love-making, and hilarious effects are obtained when it is produced at the wrong moment. An industrial picture is included on the excellent bill.
