PADEREWSKI'S OPENING RECITAL.

To-morrow Padorewuki, the -world-fam-ous pianist, with his suite, arrives at Wel''"Ston by the Marama, and on Thursday the first of his two recitals in Wellington will be given at the Town Hall. It is two decades since this master musician electrified Australia and New Zealand with liis wonderful playing. The years which have brought to him so much of stirring adventure sinco he was previously in New Zealand have but added to the interest manifested in him not only as an interpreter of all that is beautiful and impressive in the great composers, but as a man, a selt-sacnficing patriot, and a great statesman. As a musician he is outstanding, and as his programme for Thursday evening includes selections from the works of Bach, Beethoven, Schumann, Chopin, Liszt, together wtih his own beautiful Legende in A Flat, those who attend will be provided with a wonderful and varied feast, lor his recitals in New Zealand Paderewski will use the two grand pianos which he is bringing with him. At jus opening concert on Thursday there will be present a Vice-Regal party consisting of Her_ Excellency Lady Alice Fergusson and suite. The box plans for the opening night opened at The Bristol this morning, and there is every indication that a crowded Town Hall will welcome laderewski at this, his first recital in New Zealand.
