A remaud to appear next Wednesday was granted in the case of Horace Durrel Roberts, a meter-reader, 1 aged 27, who is charged with having assaulted Harry Wniterod so as to cause him actual bodily harm. When Mr. A. B. Sieywright asked that bail ,be granted, Senior-Sergeant gander, in response to a question from Mr. ■Page, said that the- injury inflicted was a severe one of its class. The charge had arisen out of a fracas in a city hotel yesterday afternoon. The accused, it , was alleged had been insulted by ATOterod, and had struck him on the head with a heavy beer glass.
