MAN KILLED IN STREET

CHRISTCHXJECH, This DayT"" A fatal accident occurred at Re^ cliffs, near Sumner, at 4U5 last evening. An elderly man was: struck by * tramcar, suffering severe; injuries toi his head, from which he-died almost immediately. He was identified as I* Gunner, of 35G, Madras street. .He was a widower, and was employed in the 'Post and Telegraph Department. The deceased was well known.in musical circles, and for yoars. was one of the foremost cornet players- in the Dominion. He was the donor of this Alice Gunner Memorial 'Prize at: tho Christchurch competitions ' -for . some years, the gift being in memory of his late wife. ' "■■ ' '
