The closed car, now the popular type in America, has hitherto presented the undesirable feature of interfering over-
nccJJ iin e?«ar vision on the part of ;he driver. This is rapidly being overcome, the latest models going far to eliminate the corner blind spot that has admittedly been responsible* for numerous accidents in congested traffic In the case of one big American company corner pillars of manganese bronze have been adopted. In addition to the advantage gained in slenderness it is stated that there is increased strength of 50 per. cent, over the old thick wooden pillars.
