_ LONDON, 2nd June. Ine Club side included several who have occasionally assisted the counties, including Hunt, representing Barclay's Bank Club, who has sometimes played for Middlesex. : Hunt dominated the batting. His innings consisted of two parts. He started when the position was serious, and hia first fifty occupitd 110' minutes, and the first two hours showed only 97 runs. After lunch, when the situation was improving, Hunt hit more freely with crisp cutting and powerful driving; His second fifty took under 75 minutes. Hunt and Blriomfield added 62 runs in an hour. Hunt made 15 fours. Dempster ended his innings with a brilliant one-hand catch in the slips. : . . , v James and AHcott, opening the New Zealand innings, played confidently, and were seldom troubled. The only bowler giving any trouble was Hazelton. James gave a stylish exhibition. Dacro was delightful, with forcing, strokes.
