VICE-REGAL.

The Governor-General and Lady Alice Fergusson returned to Wellington yesterday morning after visits to Huntly and Hamilton, where His Excellency carried out a number of engagements, includng the unveiling of the War Memorial at Huntly and the opening of the Waikato A. ana P. Show at Hamilton.

To-morrow His Excellency will be present at the Boy Scouts' rally at the Basin Reserve at 10. a.m., and in the evening will give an official dinner at Government House in honour of His Majesty's birthday.

During the current year there will be certain changes in the staff of tho Gov-ernor-General. Mr. G. J. Little, who has acted as private secretary and comptroller since His Excellency's arrival in New Zealand, is proceeding to England or private affairs. His successor has not yet been appointed. Captain Vernon Wentworth, A.D.C., rejoins. his regiment on the Ist January, and will be succeeded by Lieutenant E. L. Orr Ewing, M.C., of the Black Watch.

The Minister of Health (the Hon. J, A. Young) returned from the North today.

The Minister of Education (the Hon. E. A. Wright), who is in the Manawatu district, will return to-night.

Bishop Bayard-Mitchell, who has been touring the North Island, left liy the jjlimaroa for Sydney to-day.

Mr. F. B. Spencer, manager for Australia and. New Zealand for the Nestle, and Anglo-Swiss Condensed Milk Co. (Australia), Ltd., returned to Sydney by the Ulimaroa to-day.

Mr. J. Farrerl, of J. C. Williamson, Ltd., arrived from the South yesterday in connection with the returji visit to Wellington of the "No, No, Nanette" Company, which will present "Lady, Be Good."
