AUCKLAND, This Day. The weather was fine for the'final gallops at EHerslie this morning, and fast work was done oh No. 1 grass, while hurdles were erected on-the outside of the course proper. The steeplechase course, including the hill, was also open. The going was fairly heavy. Before breakfast-Comet King covered ! seven furlongs in Imm 44i2-Ssee. Beau Cavalier did a round in 2min 6 3-ssec. Archibald went round iv 2min 10 3-5 sec. "■.••':: Scaramouehe galloped six furlongs in lmin 28sec. . . . After breakfast Archeen ran four furlong 3in 55 2-ssec. - ' •'• . Hoariri was in front of Antrim Boy over four furlongs in 52 2-ssee. Sun Up beat Bennanee over six furlongs in lmin 22 3-ssec. : Degage ran-seven furlongs in lmin 36 3-ssec, the last six in Imin 23sec. Danae left six furlongs behind in lmin 28see. Town Guard and Master Doon were together over seven furlongs in lmin 38 3-ssec. . . Kamehameha and Fair Abbey -were together at the. end- of six furlongs in lmin 27sec. Glomint did the last five furlongs of her work in lmin llsec. Miss Potoa beat Automne over three furlongs in 40see. • . : Day Bell did a round in 2min 9see. Aeushla covered five furlongs in 58 2-ssec. ■ , Nucleus beat Killute and a companion over five furlongs in lmin 13sec. Maunga was in front of Just John and Fireblight in a round in 2min 10 sec. ■. ' ■... . Creation beat Slump over a mile, the last seven furlongs taking lmin 41 4-5 sec. '. . . ■ . Ngata did the last five furlongs of his work in lmin 10 2-ssee. Dolightment sprinted four furlongs in 57 l-ssec. . Royal Mint went a mile from the old post in 2min ls'ec. Tin Whistle did four furlongs in 56 l-ssec. Waiau Lad galloped seven furlongs in lmin 45sec. Oration covered six furlongs in lmin 27sec. : ' Passionate galloped six furlongs in 1 mm 24sec. He was picked up by Judge's Box over the last half-mile which took 55 2-sscc. ■ Tukt and Dick did about three founds on the sand at a solid;pace; fanning the Inst seven furlongs in 41 2-ssec. THE JUMPEES. Rangitahi beat Anchor over four hurdles on the course proper, and was going well at the finish. Whetuhine and Mangani set out for a similar task, Mangant falling at the second hurdle. Whetuhine gave a fair display. ' Kaiti, Hike, and Elmestra went ovor four hurdles on tho courso proper. Kaiti and Hike pleased. Prince Eufub gave a good display ovor. the fences on the flat, jumping well throughout. Black Cruiser, Mount Marta. ,:nd Tall Timber started off ovor four hurdles on tho courso proper. .Tall Timber fell at the second hurdlb. Black Cruiser finished iv front of Mount Marta, with; Karam lftt t- J M Timbor was lat<* sent over the hurdles alone, and got round Stixoly* Scot Free pleased better than Sea Comet m a similar task. Bretland and Eamblin' Kid jumped four schooling hurdles in the centre, giving a fair exhibition.' Blue Sky and Glenotus jumped two hurdles m the centre, and afterwards did a round on the No. 1 grass track m company with Clockwork, Blue Sky finishing in front. Tho timo was 2min ysec. Waioeka Jack set out for a round ovor the steeplechase course, including the hill, and got round, safely, though inclined to screw at his fences. Oniahu and Comical set out- on a Jimilar mission, Comical falling at the fence "by the five-furlong post. Omahu completed his task in good style. Peter Maxwell, Kendal, and Kayo were also sent over the big steeples. Kayo lost his rider at the fence which brought Comical to grief. Peter Maxwell finished weir in front of Kendal.
