ALLEGED ROBBERY

WHANGAREI; This Day. A middle-aged man told a sensational story to a motorist,, who found him sitting on the roadside -on' Saturday with, his left arm injured. He said that when walking from Mangapai to Portland with £29 in his possession he was given a lift in a motorcar, occupied" by- two men, who offered to take him oh payment of- 30s. : The^car was - diverted to: a- deserted road, where the man, who had been given whisky, was robbed by one man while the other wrenched his arm. He was then thrown.out of the car and left to find his way to the main road.' The police are investigating the matter. ......
