HATAITAI TRAGEDY
An inquest was opened to-day before the Cbroner; Mr. "W. G. Eiddeil,,S.M:, on Joseph Samuel Lucas, aged 76; who was.found dead in bed at his residence, 9, Waipapa terrace, on Monday afternoon, having .apparently been killed ■by an escape of gas from a stove. After evidence of . identification .had been given; the- inquiry, was adjourned to Ist June.
