LODGE MEETINGS
There was a good attendant* of niem. ben at the fortnightly meeting of the Loyal Antipodean Lodge Oddfellows Grand's Lodge for the purpose of iudirina: held by the Antipodean Lodge. The remit of the competition will be announced at a special meeting on Bth June. Two candidates were initiated into the lodge and Or>* der; Bro.. A. Wainwright, LP3j.G,,jiv. ing the .initiation charge arid Bro. A. Hunter, LJMLi gave the address. The following visitor* were received with lodge honour* .--Sater and Bro. Will*, of the Loyal Motueka Lodge and Motere Branch, Bro. E. C. Dayah> of Loyal Pnkehohi iodge. Bro. Wills gave an interesting addresson activities in the Nelson district. Smith, Exton, and Chapcott. -Elections -will be held on quarter night.- • . ;- ' v The mjßeting of the Loyal Sister Wallis Lodge, Manchester Unity, 1.0.0.P., was ield in the lodegroom, Clyde quay/ on Tuesday, K.G. Sister E. Allen presiding over a good attendance. Musical honours were accorded visiting sisters and brethren. 'Alter lodge closed a very interesting and instructive address was given by Bro. Perrin, N.G., wh» was accorded a hearty, vote of thanks. The rest of the evening was spent in dancing, the Sister Wallis Orchestra supplying the music. Nominations for the, ensuing terra ■ were: N.G., Sister D. Allen; V:G., Sister E. MTariarie; E.S., Sister E. Parrell; Warden, Sister Miiir; Guardians, Sisters Julian and P. Macarthy; Outside Guardian, Sister .R. Macarthy; Pianigtc, Sister G. Bedell; JLPJf.G.. Sister E. AUen. A meeting \>f the Loyal Combination jodge, Manchester Unity, L0.0.F., was held in the lodgeroom, Main road, Johnsonville, on Wednesday, 18th May, at 7.15 p.nu Bro. A. E. Cook presided over an excellent attendance of members. An : invitation was. received from Loyal Masl terton Lodge for members to attend its jubilee on 11th June. The election of officers for the ensuing term resulted as follows:—N.G., Bro. S. Gray; V.G., Bro. P. M. Sebire, on second ballot; E.S./ Sister L. Nordell; Guardian, Bro. A. M'Whinnie; Warden, Sister E. Sebire. At this stage eighty members of the Past Grands Lodge and other city lodges were admitted and-accorded lodge honours. Members of the various visiting lodges replied to the welcome extended to them by tb* N.G. Opportunity was taken during the evening of making a small presentation to the financial secretary, Bro. R; Cook, on the occasion of his recent marriage, Bro. W. P. Holt making the presentation on behalf of the brethren. :-■ The quarterly.meeting of the Loyal Potone Lodge, Manchester Unity, \ 1.0.0F was held on Thursday evening, the 19th mst., N.G. Bro.
