VENTURESOME FLYERS
READY TO TAKE WING ENGLAND TO INDIA NON-STOP (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, 15th May. If the 'weather remains favourable the Royal Air Force attempt at a nonstop flight from England to India, a distance of 4000 miles, in 40 hours will start to-morrow morning. Flight-Lieu-tenant Carr and Flight-Lieutenant Gillman will pilot the machine, taking control in turns. They will start from Cranwell Aerodrome, Lincolnshire. Their aeroplane, fitted with 650 h.p. Rolls Boyce Condor engines, was flown there from Brooklands on Friday. A load of 1000 gallons of petrol weighing 3* tons, will be carried, and owUlg to the great weight it has been necessary to strengthen the undercarnage.
