Saturday saw tho close of the big effort on the part of supporters of St. PeterV Mission to raise funds to further their work. The total amount collected by the week’s market is not yet known, for ticket money, etc., has not yet been counted •i7 S t ex f’ eete( l however, that the result will be fairly .good, although not up to the sum raised on the occasion of >the Egyptian Market. The fancy dress children’s party on Saturday afternoon was very much enjoyed by the 400 children present, and also by the many spectators. So excellent were the costumes that several extra prizes were given to the wearers of specially attractive dresses. The evening’s programme also attracted a large crowd, the following performers being given a hearty reception: Mr. Brockensliire, bliss Maud Farrant Mr. Wilkie, and Miss Mary Cooley. ’ A prize _ (donated by Mrs. J. Tripe) awaits Main Summers for first equal in the best colouring class at tlie baby show held in connection with the fair. ’
