ATHLETIC CONTESTS As part of the anniversary celebrations of . the Teachers’ Training College, athletic contests were held at Kelburn Park this morning between past and present students. The past students were well represented, but the present students were handicapped somewhat owing to the fact that several of their representatives were unable to take part in the meeting. The past students won by 39 points to 14 points. Among those in the past students’ team were M. Leadbetter and D. Priestly, both of whom have gained much distinction- on the track. Leadbetter won the 100yds and 220yds easily, ■ and also showed plenty of pace over the last furlong in the relay. Priestly was in fine f° rm , and had no difficulty in winning the 880yds and one .mile events. Results of events are as follow: , ,220yds.—Leadbetter .
