THE LATE MR. W. A. GRENFELL
A striking tribute to a iFreer whicl covered many activities of business and sport was paid the late Mr. W. A. W. Grenfell in the long cortege which followed his remains to the Karori Cemetery this morning. Those with whom he came into, immediate business eontact in his capacity as secretary of the Wellington Employers’ Association, and nearly every trade, many; trade unions, and all those ■ sport* with which he had been connected were represented, including members of the Wellington Bowling Club, and local bodies. The pall bearers were the following members of the staff of the Wellington Employers’ Association:— Messrs. F. Ross, C. R. Scarle, H. B. Timms, and J. Blair. The graveside ceremony was.conducted by the Rev. C. Eaton, of the Taranaki Street Methodist Church, who paid a high tribute to the life of the deceased, with whom the game was above the prize, and who had been as clean in his business life as in the many sports he had delighted in. Amongst the chief mourners tfrero Messrs. M. H. Grtmfell (Oamaru), and Alfred Grenfell (Invercargill), brothers of the deceased; George Grenfell, junior (Oamaru); Harold, Norinan, and Stanley Grenfell (sons of the deceased), Herbert Thompson. Others present were: The Hon. T. S. Weston, M.L.C., president of tho New Zealand Employers Federation; Mr. T. O. Bishop, secretary of the New Zealand Employers* Association; Mr. B. L. Hammond,, assistant secretary of the New Zealand Employers’ Asociatidn; H; Mainland, president of the Wellington Employers' Association; W. Newton and R. T. Bailey (representing the Labour Department), W. H. Bennett, P. C. Watt, E. E. Stonebanks, W. Glcndinning, T. W. Leslie, W. J, Thompson, J G. Marshall, L. Williams, A. Martin, F. Campbell, B.
