NOT WANTED ON VOYAGE

AUCKLAND, This Day. Nicola Katram (30), a Jugo-Slavian, and Eobert Allan Khan (22) were arrested yesterday prior to the Marama's departure for Sydney for being unlawfully aboard. At the Magistrate's Court this morning the former was stated to be a prohibited immigrant. A few weeks ago he was before the Court, when the police stated that he had travelled as a stowaway from Italy to Australia, and similarly from Australia to Auckland. He was remanded until an interpreter could be secured Khan pleaded guilty, stating that he was under the influence of liquor, and went aboard to see a friend. The accused used filthy language in the presence of women and children. Khan was fined £5, in default fourteen days' imprisonment, for using obscene language, and convicted and discharged on the other counts.
