FALLS INTO DEEP WATER

-.ft a*? ur 1 Boar(i tractor, with trailer attached, backed too far. whilst tipping soil in the vicinity of Burnham Wharf a few minutes before 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon, and fell into the harbour, disappearing into 30' feet of water. The driver wag fortunately thrown clear of the tractor, and fell on the sloping bank with half the steer-ing-wheel in his hand. He managed to save himself from falling into the water, and suffered only minor bruises. A, nve-ton motor-lorry, with a load of cement to give it added weight, was connected up with the tractor at 9 o'clock this morning, when it was low water, and succeeded in pulling the tractor from the water. The trailer was filled with clay, and it was at first thought that a diver would have to be sent down to remove .this, but it was recovered without having to call on the services of a diver. The tractor was removed for repairs.
