SAFES TO BE OPENED
OXY-ACETYLENE, PROCESS
(Received 14th May, 1 p.m.)
LONDON, 13th May. lhe police have been stationed at the Areos building all day long. Messages and telegrams were intercepted and read before delivery. A further development to-night was the arrival of a contractor's lorry, equipped with oxyacetylene apparatus and gas tubes. These were carried to the ground floor for the purpose of breaking open certain safes built into the concrete, the keys of which officials declined to hand over on the grounds of diplomatic immunity.
