Mrs. Harding (chairwoman of the Navy League Committee) asks that all members of tho Navy League and other friends will -remember the orphans and destitute families of British sailors this winter. The work of sending warm clothing to England was begun five years ago, and is' still urgently needed. The clothes are given to the families of men of tho inercantilo marine as well as the Royal Navy. There are thousands of children whoso fathers wcro killed or disabled in the war. Many families of men demobilised after the war are in great distress. Some men who fought all through the war are left without pension or allowanco of any kind, and it is felt that it is not.too much to ask the women of New Zealand to help their children. Contributions of warm new garments, donations of money, or material will bo gratefully acknowledged by Mrs. Harding, 49, Sydney street, Petone, or the Navy League office, 212, Lambton quay. Miss, Samson is opening, new models by every mail in day and evening gowns; also hats in the latest styles. Colonial Mutual Building, Customhouse quay.— t lvt.
