THEIR JUST DESERTS
DISQUALIFIED PLAYERS
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)
CHRISTCHUBGH, This Day.The secretary of the Canterbury Rugby League has replied to Mr. M'Keon's statements yesterday regard' ing the alleged injustice of the life disqualification of the seven New Zealand representative players. He says that ho is astonished that a member of his executive should so far forget himself as to reopen in the Press a matter which both the New Zealand Council and the Canterbury League saw fit to take in committee.
The Canterbury League was quite in accord with the action of tho council in disqualifying tho seven players. The League certainly did not want the matter reopened, as practically all tho members, with the apparent exception of Mr. M'Keon, were satisfied that tho players received no more than their just deserts.
