ACROSS THE STRAIT
AEROPLANE FROM CHRISTCfiURCH
It is some years', since Cook Strait ■was crossed by aeroplane. A iflachine is reported by Press Association telegram from. Ohristchurdh. to have left the Wigram aerodrome at Sockbuin, at about 1 o'clock this afternoon for Wellington, arid arrived at Treri•thain racecourse at 3 p.m. The pilot is: Captain Findlayy officer commanding Wigram aerodrome, who is making the flight for reconnaisance purposes. Flights have been made recently from Christchureh to the Weat Coast of the South Island, but apparently the field of operations'is now being widened and extended across the Strait. Information is. not E.vailable as to when the machine will make the return flight.
