FRENCH CONCESSION
CO-OPERATION IN DEFENCE

RUGBY, 4th April. Sir Laming Worthington-Evans (Secretary for "War), replying in the House of Commons to a question about the defence of the French concession at Shanghai, said that this had not been undertaken by the British Defence Force. In response, however, to an inquiry from the " 'rench Commander as to whether, if pressed, he could call for British assistance, General Duncan h. c T informed him that he could co-op-erate if the French line was in danger.
