AUSTRALASIAN BANKING.
Mr. George D. Meudell, F.S.S., F.J.1., in a paper recently read before the Historical Society of Victoria, furnished figures relative to banks in-Australia and New Zealand, which will be found of great value for reference. The. total .assets of the banks, including the Commonwealth Bank, are £548,918,795, and adding those ,of the Savings Bank of Australia, ■ the Ballarat Banking Co., and the Primary Producers Bank (£1,852,965), the aggregate is £714,791,406. The total capital paid Up is £44,978,643, and original capital paid up £0,291,703. ■
