Amery, informed a questioner in the House of Commons £hat expenditure under the Empire Settlement Act in 1922-23 was £35,000.; 1923-24, £425,----000; in 1924-25, £424,000; in 1925-26, £570,000; in 1926-27, £1,142,000.
