FISHING EXCURSION

ON SELWYN RIVER

(By Telegraph.)

(Special to "The Evening Post.")

CHBISTCHURCH, This Day. Yesterday afternoon the Duko went on a fishing excursion to tho Sehvyn River just a little below tho Sehvyn huts. Lunch and afternoon tea were partaken of in tho opon on tho riverbank. Tho party included Mr. Stead. Lieut.-Commander Buist, and Captain Boyle. Tho Duko was not very successful in his piscatorial efforts. Ho succeeded in hooking one fish, but his line had not been properly wound, and it fouled so as to prevent him from playing the fish. Mr. Stead was tho only other one of tho party to havo any success at all, and he secured but ono fish. Nevertheless His Royal Highness looked anything but downhearted when he returned from his seven hours out in the open air.
