REQUEST FOR EXEMPTION
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)
PAHIATUA, This Day. The Bush Dairy Factories' Association held a large and representative meeting here regarding the recent award and passed resolutions approving of the proposal to obtain a repeal of the Arbitration Act. The other dairyassociations in the industrial district were asked to co-operate in arranging a monster deputation to the Prime Minister to ask for the exemption of dairyfactories from the operations of the Arbitration Act on the grounds that the increases in the manufacturing costs cannot be passed on to the consumers as tho produce has to be sold in open competition in the world's markets.
