DEDUCTIONS ON THE WEEK

The High Commissioner, London, 12th March, advises the Department of Agriculture, to-day, of the following official quotations:— Butter.—New Zealand market slow; others steady.

The Bank of New Zealana, Produce Department, hns received the following advice from its London office, under date 11th March:—"Butter: Dull; controlled 158 ato 160s cwt. Cheese: Quiet; controlled 84s to 85s cw.t."' Tho position of the cheese market is described by the High Commissioner as "quiet," and official quotations are cabled as follows:—"English, finest farmers', 116s to 120s cwt (Is OJd to Is Id per lb), price as last week. Canadian: Finest coloured and white, 12th March 94s to 98s cwt (lOd to IOJd lb}; las* week, 96s to 98s cwt (IOJd to 10ja lb); other qualities, 92s ewt (9Jd lb). New Zealand: Coloured ana white, 12th March, 84s to 85s cwt (9a to 9}d lb); last weok, 87s to 88s ewt (9Jd lb); other qualities, 82s to 83s ewt (B}d to 9d lb)." Tho Now Zealand Dairy Produce Board has "received the following market report from London, dated 11th March:— "Butter.—New Zealand, finest 160s first 158s, unsalted 1645, 1665; market slow. Australian: Finest 1525-1545, unsalted 158s-lC2s. Argentine: Unsalted finest, 1525-1545. Dutch: Unsaltcd, 1763-178s. Danish: 180s-182s spot, 176s f.0.b.; retail price unchanged; Continental markets quiet, tendency decline sympathy London. "Chese.—New Zealand, whito ana coloured, finet,t 85s, first P4s; Canadian, finest white and coloured, 945-98s; English, finest farmers', 116s-120s. Cheese market quiet, all varieties; retails unchanged."
